Troy McWhinney, the Loveland programmer who together with his brother and dad changed the face of east Loveland, has been named Property Entrepreneur of the Year by Colorado State University's Everitt Property Center. He will be presented with the award Wednesday in CSU's 18th annual Northern Colorado Realestate Conference at Loveland's Embassy Suites convention center. Troy and brother Chad McWhinney along with their father, Derek, formed the McWhinney development provider in 1991. Their important impact on Loveland has become the 3,000-acre Centerra master-planned commercial and residential development on each side of Interstate 25 in the eastern border of Loveland.
