Rhinoplasty is not especially painful. You may feel like you have a cold or some slight pressure. When the cast comes off, you will prefer the new nose to the one you had, but it is still not the final result. The swelling will decrease most dramatically in the first few weeks after the surgery. The most subtle changes will occur over the first year and for revision surgery even longer.
