Kalki died of tuberculosis at Chennai, aged 55 years. His last editorial work was the special issue of Kalki magazine Ramaswamy Krishnamurthy Novels, dated 5 December 1954 (the day he died) for Annai Sarada Devi. The magazine shared the details that had been improving his health before his death.
