Skilled overseas workers on Australian 457 visas who work in Australia are not “stealing” jobs from Australians.
In a new university study, it was found out that the resources sector jobs were not in fact pilfered by the skilled migrant workers on immigration to Australia under the 457 visa program from Australians.
According to researchers at Perth’s Edith Cowan University School of Management, findings have showed that the public perceptions that temporary foreign migrant workers are reducing opportunities for skilled locals are not true.
