The Butchart Gardens were carefully constructed by Jenny Butchart on her husband's former limestone quarry. It is ranked consistently as one of the top tourist destinations in Victoria, Canada. Every year millions of visitors comes to see this beautiful floral garden.

There are five gardens within the whole of Butchart: the Italian, Japanese, Rose, Mediterranean, the piece de resistance and the Sunken Garden. The bright colors and glorious fountains of Butchart Gardens make it look like the set of an inventive fantasy film.

You can do Ice skating at The Butchart Gardens is a fun winter activity for families. The Butchart Gardens doesn’t get a lot snow and frost in the winter. During the winter indoor garden and greenhouse are opened for public. The garden is illuminated with colored lights throughout the Christmas season.

There is a firework show at The Butchart Gardens for 30 minutes which is very popular event. In july and august you can watch and enjoy the choreographed fireworks at nightfall and the concert performed in an open air amphitheater.

There are two main and well known restaurants at The Butchart Gardens: The Dining Room and The Blue Poppy. The Dining Room restaurant is formal and expensive for most families.Blue Poppy restaurants is attractive and properly ventilated cafeteria style restaurant, where you can find good quality food, sandwiches, entrees and a kids’ menu. The specialty is the chicken dishes as most of the family chose.
